Thank you for those who signed. Your support is really appreciated, without your support and well wishes, we cannot hold companies like Uber accountable.
Like many other corporations before, Uber are playing the same rhetoric, with bribing makeshift unions to satisfy their greed at the expense of the people who wants to work hard (see link below), but drivers who deliver your food, keep getting penalized, for working tirelessly, but paid way below, less than minimum wage before fuel, energy, and vehicle costs, on top of paying taxes.
Uber does not have to agree/ be compliant and follow the provincial labour laws that applies to every other business in this province and beyond. How do Uber get away with these type of behaviour are to be pondered and observed and held accountable.
Please share this petition and support it if you can. The change we are expecting may not happen now, but these conversations are needed. For customers it’s a cheap alternative, as it might/ may cost them more in time and money to go and collect what they want to eat, but Uber manipulates all including the customer at the end by manipulating labour laws underpaying the folks who deliver your food regardless of the tip paid and region you work. None of us can be happy by letting one company like Uber exploit everyone, with the premise of convenience and savings, but Uber wins every time as uber makes money from all involved, everyday. They’re a multi billion dollar venture now. The business model of Uber needs to change, to also benefit those who provide the service, sacrificing time, money and taking a lot of risks.
Please spread the word and help people who deliver your food safely, and securely, to your door, who does not get treated well or being paid a minimum wage, with no other benefits but more overheads to be paid out of pocket. This is a very exploitative, bad business model, that can be corrected, with better ethics with your invaluable help, however only the governments can help to intervene whom we elect to be in power.. People like you can make a difference, by signing.
