HR 312 (Mashpee Wampanoag Reservation Reaffirmation) and HR 375 ('Clean' Carcieri Fix) both were passed in the U.S. House of Representatives on May 15, 2019 but have stalled in the Senate. Let us push the Senate to pass these 2 major Indian Country bills and do the right thing, reassert federal trust status to the Mashpee Wampanoag reservation (HR 312) AND reaffirm the Department of Interior's ability to place tribal land into federal trust, regardless of when the tribe received federal recognition status (HR 375).
