Donald Trump has appointed a known scientific illiterate and climate denier to head the EPA. Climate Change and the scientific method used to study it is an issue that is no longer up for debate. For 30-40 years climate scientists have been modeling the processes of fossil fuel combustion and their effects on the climate. As a result of the continuing culmination of scientific research that points to fossil fuels being the main culprit for planetary climate change, we can say with near scientific certainty that the climate is changing as a result of fossil fuel combustion. There is no debate, anymore than there is a debate about if we landed on the moon, if the holocaust happened, if 9/11 was an inside job. There is no scholarly debate over the causes and potential effects of climate change. The debate is over the best way to mitigate the imminent disaster. Majority of scientists and even economic advisers to G.W.B have described methods to  phase out fossil fuels by taxing it based on its propensity for destruction. Scott Pruitt has mentioned several times that climate change is not a serious issue and that fossil fuel combustion doesn't have a significant affect on it. That would put him at odds with scientific consensus on the subject. It would be equally worrisome to appoint a secretary of defense who believed that 9/11 was an inside job, or a secretary of the treasury who believed in the illuminati, such positions would make those cabinet heads wholly unqualified to do their job, just as denying established environmental science would make you unqualified to head the EPA. Mr. Pruitt is severely lacking in scientific literacy in a cabinet position that has to digest a plethora of scientific literature on a daily basis in order to make policy. If Mr. Pruitt doesn't understand the natural processes and artificial mechanisms that harm the environment, how can he protect it? After all it is the Environmental PROTECTION Agency. Mr. Pruitt should be denied confirmation to head of the EPA based on these premises. Please deny Mr. Pruitt appointment to head the EPA, it is your duty to do so.
