U.S Lawmakes Must Allow Sikh History to be Celebrated and acknowledged in U.S.
As we know State of Connecticut On April 29th 2022 Recognized special day of Sikh Nation while Sikhs all around world were Celebrating 36th anniversary of Historical Resolution that was passed at Sikh Political Center “Akaal Takhat” to declare their sovereignty.
Historical Resolution was passed in democratic way thru “Sarbat Khalsa” which is a concept known as Collective Gather for Sikh community.
In that historical resolution Sikhs declared to the World that Sikh Nation no longer wish to live as part of Union of India because their homeland “Punjab” was not given promised autonomy by India after 1947 Transfer of power by Britishers.
June 1984 Attack on Sikh places of worship by Indian Army on orders of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and November 1984 State Sponsored Sikh Genocide was key reason that forced Sikhs to call “Sarbat Khalsa” in order to understand the Will of Sikh Nation.
Background:�
In 1947 when Britishers left that region of South Asia , India and Pakistan was created but Sikh State “Punjab” which was independent country till 1849 under Maharaja Ranjit Singh was divided into two parts and Sikhs choose to live on Indian Side of Punjab as they were promised autonomy by Hindu Leadership at that time.
But in 1950 when Indian Constitution was made Sikh leadership didn’t accepted that constitution and didn’t sign that constitution as it said Sikhs are part of Hinduism which they felt was direct attack on Sikhs Separate identity.
U.S Census Bureau also recognized Sikhs as separate ethnicity in 2020 but India still Don’t.
Sikh civil right movement for equal rights was started after 1950 as Sikhs were being treated as second class citizen.
Unfortunately State of Punjab still don’t have control over it’s resources and shows Punjab on Indian side is under Indian Occupation.
Punjab is known as land of 5 rivers but punjab water goes to other states in India without Punjab getting compensation.
This is against international riparian laws and while Agriculture is major occupation in Punjab ,Farmers of Punjab are forced to use ground water which is resulting in environmental contamination issue.
Sikh civilization is still under threat in India and Sikhs want to get referendum done.
Sikhs want United Nation to intervene and help Sikhs to exercise their Right of self determination.
Sikh Struggles for independence has always been under UN Charter and Sikhs intend to keep up with their fight under democratic and peaceful manner under UN charter.
We thank State of Connecticut officials and any other States or Cities which has recognized Sikh Struggle to live life of dignity and to keep their history and faith alive.
Sikh Nation also strongly believe that Indian Consulate should not be allowed to interfere in state of Connecticut and in Sikh Nations affairs.
Also Sikh Nation Condemn Indian Consulate efforts to divide Communities in Connecticut, Misrepresenting facts to elected officials and efforts to defame Sikhs.
What are the Reasons for Indian Consulate to Create rift over simple citation which just calls for one historical day recognition ? �
India is always looking for opportunities to defame Sikhs and connect Legitimate Sikh peaceful struggle to terrorism.
India is working on agenda of making India as Hindu nation and efforts of Sikh community challenge Sikhs being part of Hinduism.
India even called peaceful protestors terrorist and their paid media outlets are always looking to show Sikhs in negative way to demoralize Sikh youth who wants to save their history.
India has committed crimes against humanity on Sikh Nation and also committed Sikh Genocide in 1984 and they know if these recognitions become part of discussion at federal level ,India will have to face sanctions from America.
Sikhs have clear their stand on Ukraine and have been supportive of Ukraine while India buying their weapons S-400 Missile system and Millions of Barrels of oil from Russian and support Russian Federation.
Recently Sikhs made Indian Govt. to repeal the farming laws which were intended to take away lands of Farmers of Punjab thru peaceful 1.5 year long protest, that made india look bad on international stage and challenged Indian Democracy at world level.
India thinks they can use threatening language and Indian Consulate NY thinks that he has diplomatic immunity so it’s okay for him to threat people.
Understanding of Khalistan:�
Khalistan which is Another Name for Free Punjab is used by India in negative way to scare people and they always link that word to terrorism to defame Sikhs.
Khalistan means land of pure, Also Concept of Khalistan was also forced on Sikhs by India as Sikhs never wanted separate country till India attacked their places of worship and committed Sikh Genocide.
They just wanted to live with India by maintaining their autonomy. But India started calling itself Hindustan and Hindu terror groups like R.S.S and political parties like B.J.P in India started to work on agenda of one nation, one language and one religion which forced Sikhs to call their Homeland Punjab as Khalistan to show resistance.
Even if you read Sikh Declaration of Independence resolution of April 29th 1986 it clearly shows that Sikh just want to give good governance to all the people of punjab like they gave when Sikhs had their own nation under Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
Mission of Khalistan is to safeguard all the faith based communities and maintain communal harmony’s by working on goals of diversity, inclusion and equity which were showcased under Sikh Empire till 1849.
