STOP THE BEAR HUNT! Scheduled to begin Oct. 24, the hunt is the first of its kind for the large, docile creatures in nearly 20 years. The season will run for a minimum of two days or until Oct. 30. Statewide, officials have set a quota of 320 bears distributed throughout four bear management units.  One of many problems is with permits selling right up to the day of the hunt, there is a possibility that the number issued could very well exceed Florida’s estimated population of 3,000 black bears. It's time for us to STOP this HUNT before it's too late. Please sign and forward this petition to get the attention of Florida's Fish and Wildlife Commission. We don't want our bears murdered!!!
