Dear Supporters,
Elon Musk has a talent for grabbing news headlines. This past week, Elon has landed in the news for installing a giant LED X sign on the top of his building in San Francisco. (https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/jul/31/twitter-x-new-logo-complaints-san-francisco-hq). Due to the worldwide news coverage and complaints to the city, including the complaints from the Soft Lights Foundation, Elon removed the sign today.
This is a great coverage for the cause of blinding LED headlights because it demonstrates for the world what unregulated 'luminance' from LEDs looks like. It's hideous, and dangerous, and it makes people angry. You can now send this story to as many government officials as you can, telling them that you are tired of 'unregulated luminance' for LEDs, including LED headlights, and demanding that these government officials send letters to the FDA asking the FDA to comply with 21 U.S.C. 360ii and publish performance standards for LED products, including restrictions on peak luminance, to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of the public.
