The U.S. is lagging behind in terms of language education. Though English is spoken and well known, it’s still good to know second or third language. And Spanish is the second most. We even have our own dialects in New Mexico and Louisiana. There’re so many migrants and native speakers here, so why not? The reason being it opens many doors for users. It allows them to experience a new culture, ideas, way of thinking, and of course new jobs. 

There isn’t much emphasis on language learning here. There aren’t many teachers who are native that can teach it well understandably and with patience, and the way it’s taught is flawed. Look at countries such as Sweden and Denmark. We should follow their example as to how to teach our kids (it could be with anything actually). 

So much good can come out of this. It can help fight xenophobia, increase empathy for others, and offer a better mindset on the world around. And it starts here. The more signatures we get, the higher chance we have if that happening.
