Time Magazine covered this story and we were grateful to have been invited to tell our story and be covered in that story. Click here to view the story. Unfortunately, the CDC dictated the narrative, and it is quite clear from Dr. Pieracci’s comments that this import ban will be in place for the foreseeable future.
Therefore, we have taken immediate steps to grow our foundation so that we can continue to adopt out the dogs that we rescue. If we cannot adopt them out and make room in our sanctuaries in East Asia, we cannot continue to rescue dogs trapped in the illegal dog meat trade. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!
We have just secured property in Toronto, Canada and have officially opened a No Dogs Left Behind Safe House for our survivors. Through our Safe House and our new family of amazing Canadian fosters and volunteers, we are moving dogs out of East Asia and into loving homes. These dogs will have to stay in Canada for the mandatory six-month waiting period before they are legally permitted to come into the United States to their adopters. But they will be on free soil and we now have room to treat and rehabilitate the dogs we rescue from slaughterhouses, butchers, and dog meat trucks. We are so grateful to all who helped make this happen.
As we grow, we hope to be able to provide a safe haven to ALL rescues who need to move their dogs out of danger and into Canada. We are all in this together and we will fight for every single dog that is trapped in harm’s way in other countries. We will do our part to help get them to the loving American adopters who want to adopt them.
We need funding to make this all work. We have the Safe House, but capital improvements are required to ensure the dogs’ safety. If every supporter of this petition were to donate just $10, we could secure enough money to have the Safe House fully operational within four weeks and continue to move our remaining survivors out of East Asia. Will you skip your Starbucks for one day and donate to this campaign? We need our supporters now more than ever. We cannot let these dogs down. Please click here to donate.
Thank you for your support.
Together, we will fight the good fight and be a voice for the voiceless!
