Type 1 diabetes doesn’t stop. Neither should access to life-changing technology.

Every single day, people living with Type 1 diabetes have to calculate insulin, monitor glucose and constantly worry about dangerous highs and potentially life-threatening hypos.

Hybrid closed-loop insulin pumps can reduce that relentless burden and help people manage their diabetes more safely.

Yet across Scotland, access can depend on where you live, local NHS capacity and whether your health board can provide the technology you clinically need.

That isn’t equal healthcare.

We are calling on the Scottish Government and NHS Scotland to guarantee fair, equal and timely access to closed-loop insulin pumps for everyone with Type 1 diabetes who could clinically benefit from them — regardless of postcode.

We are not asking for luxury treatment.

We are asking for the tools that can help us stay safe, healthy and alive.

No postcode lottery.
No unnecessary waiting.
No barriers to technology that could change someone’s life.
