I have been asked by numerable people from all walks of life to start this petition. Election is in 2 weeks. This is a vital time to show our candidates we mean business.

Legalisation of Medicinal & Recreational Marijuana will weaken the drug cartels, increase tourism and save money on law enforcement and the legal system. It will increase the liberties of the Manx people, and allow for reallocation of resources away from punishing non-violent offenders, enabling law enforcement to perform their duties more effectively with a higher community engagement.

Under our current legalisation for medicinal use; no GP will prescribe Marijuana to a manx resident, there is only a projected employment of 250 people; it is only legal to export under an excruciatingly priced license and there is no legislation for import.

This is a $9.1 billion dollar global industry as of last year. We should be leading the Isles in this sector as we have the potential and more with a creative vision.

Our mental health system has the funding for improvements to training and the hiring of new staff. Our housing market as well as other reasons are deterring this. Meaning there is still, in some cases, a 2 year wait for urgent medical care. Legalisation of Medicinal & Recreational Marijuana would allow for regulation and quality control. It would vastly improve the mental state of our island as well as increase the attraction. It would open up the barriers we currently face tourism wise with cannabis cafes. It just makes sense.

Our suicide rate has doubled in this last year. How many families changed forever because the current system DOES NOT WORK?

We have spoken, as a people, in favour. Now its time to SHOUT.
