Did you know that San Francisco was the first city to ban the use of plastic grocery bags, which eliminated the use of approximately 100 million bags a year? We think we should do the same thing here in Andover and help our Earth become a better place! OR instead of banning the plastic bags completely, we could add a ten cent tax on every plastic bag used to reduce the use of plastic grocery bags. This tax could then be given directly to Kansas Education. Plastic bags hurt animals by either getting into the ocean and the animals get caught in them or eat them. They also harm the earth because it takes over 1000 years for 1 bag to decompose!  We as third graders are making a difference - you can too! Sign our petition to ban plastic bags in the grocery stores of Andover! This is just a start in making the Earth a better place!
