Just when I thought we might have a breather, disturbing reports are coming my way. Brian Flewelling, who represents Okatie, Burton and the Shell Point area, is encouraging other County Council members to vote "yes" for the entire Hilton Head National development as proposed by the developers themselves despite the recommendations of the subcommittee at the last meeting. If you were at the Bluffton GOP meeting earlier this year, Brian used political theater, not rational, when he stated that "property owners should be able to do whatever they want with their land" even if it negatively affects thousands of tax paying residents and more importantly, their lifestyle. I plead that each of you e-mail Brian and other County Council members, especially those north of the Broad River, that have no dog in this fight to uphold the findings of the subcommittee and not allow rezoning so this massive development can proceed.
