I want to thank EVERYONE that made the trip to Beaufort last night for the County Council meeting. It was the passion you showed that won this first round against the developers. If you missed it, dozens of people got up and spoke their mind and the council voted to return the development plans to the Natural Resources Committee and organize a subcommittee to research the project further. Two council members remarked afterwards that he had never seen so many passionate people show up for a council meeting in his tenure as a council member. But it isn't over folks, keep spreading the word and let's make it clear that this development is unacceptable as proposed. Also, e-mail Chairman Paul Sommerville at psommerville@bcgov.net demanding future meetings on Hilton Head national be held in Bluffton, not Beaufort. Lastly, one vocal supporter of the development was councilman Stewart Rodman from Hilton Head District 11. Does he have ties to the developer?
