Turnover control of Vermillion HOA to homeowners

Turnover control of Vermillion HOA to homeowners
The Issue
Vermillion was created in 1998, by Robert "Nate" Bowman. Since then, he has been the sole controlling entity of over 1100+ homes and owners, HOA spending decisions, rule enforcement, and every matter related to the community. Mr. Bowman is permitted to remain in control of Vermillion for another decade.
Vermillion owners have never been able to elect their own Board of Directors, and have no voice in spending decisions. The appointed Board of Directors has frequent vacancies and resignations, with essentially no decision making authority. The small number of meeting minutes available to review reflect that Mr. Bowman rarely if ever attends Board meetings despite being president.
The management company selected by Mr. Bowman, Kuester, is often disrespectful to homeowners and dismisses legitimate concerns.
Vermillion homeowners deserve to control their own community, to determine how their money is spent, elect their choice of Board of Directors and have a say in how rules are enforced. Recent aggressive, petty notices and fines by Kuester Management make this more urgent.
This petition is for Vermillion homeowners to express their support of immediate turnover of the HOA from Mr. Bowman to the homeowners, which is long overdue. Mr. Bowman can voluntarily transfer control to owners, and if he continues to choose not to, he will at least understand how those who own property, maintain and improve it, and contribute to the community feel about it.
The developer is not the sole arbiter of the quality of a large and long-standing community, the homeowners collectively have contributed more to property values and by way of funding the association and caring about their community.
