FVDED in the Park has always been a highlight of my summer. It's a place where music, culture, and community comes together in an unforgettable way. For many locals and visitors, it’s more than just a music festival; it’s a celebration that brings joy, thrills, and vibrant memories year after year. However, like many, I believe that a festival of this magnitude and importance to our city deserves to be spread over three days instead of just two, so everyone can truly enjoy and immerse themselves in the experience.

Currently, festival-goers only enjoy the festivities on Friday and Saturday. Extending the event to include Sunday would allow greater opportunities for artists to perform, providing them with more exposure and an extended platform to reach their audiences. Not only would this be beneficial for artists, but it would also bring significant economic benefits to the city of Surrey. As observed in numerous studies, longer festivals increase accommodation bookings, local dining, and shopping, which contributes positively to the local economy and creates more jobs for Surrey residents.

Moreover, turning FVDED in the Park into a three-day event allows for a more relaxed schedule. With extra time, attendees won’t feel rushed to catch all their favorite acts in a condensed time frame. They would have more opportunities to explore the festival grounds, enjoy various engaging activities, and fully appreciate the live music scene without missing out.

To achieve this, we ask the organizers and relevant authorities to consider the logistical enhancement such as extending venue arrangements, ensuring community consultation, and potentially liaising with local businesses to accommodate a three-day festival plan.
