The Issue

Honor the life & legacy of US Army Veteran Lee Andrew Williams, Legendary Gospel singer, Philanthropist,  Community Servant and Devoted Family Man.  Rename Gumtree Park, 683 N. Front Street,  Tupelo, Mississippi 38804 -- the Lee Andrew Williams Cultural Park and Recreational Site. 

Lee Williams,  the beloved quartet front man of Spiritual QCs served for 67 years as lead singer and songwriter.  He began singing gospel music at the age of six along with his brothers,  Willie, Robert and Frank. After graduation from high school, Lee enlisted in the US Army and traveled abroad while serving our country.  Lee returned to Tupelo with a fervor for ministry to the incarcerated,  downtrodden and forgotten. After three decades of recording and traveling,  Lee Williams and the Spiritual QCs released in 1998 the album, "Love Will Go All The Way" with their first national hit -- "I've Learned to Lean." Lee was featured on the hit ,"Cooling Water" with Melvin and Doug Williams in 2006. In the decades to follow Lee Williams and The Spiritual QCs would record and tour the nation nearly 50 weeks a year, touching fans and changing lives. Lee Williams retired in 2018.

Moreover, Lee Williams was the dutiful husband of Annie Ruth Williams and dedicated father of five children.  Lee Williams lived a life of Honor,  Courage and Commitment to helping others.
