Give students who graduated their certificates TUT

The Issue

This petition has been set up to help students who graduated from the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and were beneficiaries of the National Student  Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) in 2021 or before enquire on the issue regarding their certificates.

Nearly a year has passed since third year TUT students graduated for the 2020 academic year. Since then, a lot of them are still unable to get access to their Diploma certificates or their academic records despite being funded by NSFAS.

This has been incredibly sad to note especially when one puts into consideration the high youth unemployment rate in South Africa. This means that by not getting their Diplomas and their academic records, TUT students are doubly disadvantaged in their respective fields of study.

This appeal thus calls on TUT and NSFAS to liase and find a solution that will be beneficial to the students who have been caught in a crossfire between the two institutions.

Furthermore we call on TUT to immediately give students access to their academic records while they wait for their fees to be cleared by NSFAS.
