Subodh Mahajan started this petition to RAJ KUMAR SINGH (MNRE MINISTER) and

How would you feel if you are a small business owner and have your hard earned money stuck with the government through no fault of your own.

India had set up a very ambitious target of 40GW of Solar Rooftop plants, till 2022 ! We started working in this field not only as a for profit business, but also with a intention to do something good for the environment and for the community. We really appreciated the fact the the Indian government emphasized time and time again to this clean and green form of energy to satisfy our nation's energy requirement.

But you know what, installing Solar PV Plants is eating into the finances of the installation company to a limit that even the cost of goods sold is not being recovered due to one simple promotion scheme - SUBSIDY !

MNRE intends to give out a Central Finance Assistance (CFA) aka subsidy to residential customers who choose to install solar plants on their roofs so that the investment by them is reduced. Good intentions, extremely bad execution ! Since August 2019 MNRE issued a notification declaring that the amount of subsidy claim for the customers, will be transferred to the companies who install the Solar PV Plant. There is no timeline being followed for releasing the subsidy amount after installation of the plant and we are yet to receive subsidy for the first Solar PV Plant that we have installed !

To enlist ourselves officially to provide with the CFA benefit, we even have to keep a considerable amount as bank guarantee (Varies according to state) with the local nodal MNRE appointed agencies for a period of 6 years. Even after doing this, playing by their rules we are kept from our rightfully earned capital. As the whole world and our nation is currently going through the COVID-19 crises, just think how much this amount would had helped all the solar companies in India for paying out salaries to their employees.

Join me in asking the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to make the guidelines for releasing CFA just and fair for all the parties involved in the process.
