With the promise of luxury living, we all were eager to move into these beautiful apartments in Downers Grove. The beautiful views, updated units, and all the amenities that are offered, who wouldn't want to live here? 

Well, with the current property manager, quite a few people wouldn't want to live at the apartments of ReNew Downers Grove. In fact, there are residents that are moving out just so that they do not have to deal with the condescending property manager, Victor. 
Mr. Ledezma has taken over as the property manager since summer of 2019, and has since made this complex a very dismal place to live. Where it was once a highly recommended, luxurious, and inviting place, this is now a complex run by a bully who has no training in professionalism whatsoever. As he likes to put it, he is used to "section-8" residents and so uses that excuse for the way he treats the doctors, professionals, and student professionals living here. He uses tactics, such as money gauging and charging holdover rents, to drive people that he does not like out of their units. In a time where everyone has been coming together during this pandemic, he has increased the monthly rent for a select few.

Mr. Ledezma also likes to punish the whole complex for the actions of a few. Damage to carts? No more carts for anyone. Bring an extra friend to the pool? Shorten the pool hours for everyone. A couple of residents don't pick their packages up on time? Everything will be returned to sender. 
Our packages are being taken out of the buildings that they're delivered to, put into the mailroom, and then we're being threatened that they'll be returned if not picked up during business hours. Packages have gone missing in this 'secured' room with two cameras and additional security, and there is nothing being done about it. Doors to garages and entryways that are supposed to have secured entries have been broken for months with nothing being done, allowing anyone to enter the buildings.

For a while after the first quarantine, there were still social gatherings at the clubhouse, with the management team taking part, completely ignoring regulations. Although this is a nonsmoking complex, Mr. Ledezma is an active marijuana smoker in his unit. Complaints have been largely ignored or mass emails have been sent out to the complex reminding residents that this is a non-smoking facility, but nothing done further. We understand that Mr. Ledezma is the property manager, but no one should be above the regulations and community standards. Concerns of gas leaks and water leaks ignored by Mr. Ledezma have turned into serious problems for some residents, some requiring emergency responses. Trash is left everywhere around the complex, including cigarette butts, glass, mini alcohol bottles, and more. The garage is full of trash and glass at times making it unsafe to drive your vehicle. Dog feces is kept on the lawn for weeks at a time. There are alleged rapists living in the complex that the management team is well aware of and is doing nothing about. If you make an anonymous review, Mr. Ledezma will call you the next day harassing you about the review that you left.

 It is understood that at a time like this, not every issue can be attended to, but Mr. Ledezma continually ignores many of the issues that us residents have and ignores us. Since Mr. Ledezma took over as the property manager, it has not felt as though we've been living in a luxury apartment complex. While renovations have been taking place since the acquisition to make the complex more appealing, eco-friendly, etc., the residents have been ignored and treated as though they are of little importance. It feels as though Mr. Ledezma can do whatever he pleases and no one can stop him. Our home has dropped from an almost 5-star complex to an about 2-star rating. We're paying luxury prices for mediocre living. This is not the place that we moved into. 

I ask you to please bring about a change that can make the residents look at the complex, and the management team as a whole, with pride once again. Please help make this place as luxurious as it once was. Please remove Mr. Ledezma from his position and bring someone who knows what they are doing, and who cares about the people living in the complex.
