Trekkies for IDIC: Paramount Must Honor DEI Commitments

The Issue

It was announced this week that Paramount will no longer honor it's commitments to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, or DEI, due to political pressure by the US president.

As Trekkies, we call upon Paramount to reverse this cowardly decision and continue to uplift these values and supportive policies.

To show our power to Paramount, we call upon fellow Trekkies not only to sign this petition but also to boycott Paramount+ and any purchase of licensed products from March 30 through April 5.

April 5 is First Contact Day, a fandom celebration of the date when Zephram Cochrane first meets the Vulcan visitors to Earth. In Star Trek lore, this event followed decades of conflict and a third World War which costs the lives of hundreds of millions of people and devastated Earth.

This is a cautionary tale which has been core to Star Trek's lore for the entirety of the franchise.

The franchise has also always celebrated IDIC, or Infinite DIVERSITY in Infinite Combinations. We, as Trekkies, also celebrate these ideals, and will not let the network which presently owns the franchise, erode support for these principles and undermine the protections for the workers who are developing and stewarding the franchise.

Sign our petition today, and boycott Paramount+ and purchases of licensed Star Trek products between March 30 and April 5 unless President Brian Robinson reverses course.
