Rashad Owens is a 23 year old convicted of Capital Murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for an incident that happened at one of the largest events in the united states SXSW ( South by Southwest) in Austin, Texas 2014.
The problem is the Capital Murder charge Mr. Owens received. In the state of Texas the prosecution team has to prove that it was intentional for one to kill without reasonable doubt. I strongly feel and see based on the arguments made and evidence that was/wasn't there that the verdict was based on sole emotions. With that being said who is it going to hurt to give this man an appeal? Mr. Owens is already sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The Baez law firm based in Florida has said they are willing to help with his appeal but the amount needed to get started was quoted at " 40-65K plus travel expenses.
