To Transport for NSW & City of Sydney,

Many residents living in the high-density complexes along Potter St and Gadigal Ave in Waterloo, as well as local investors, have expressed their objection to the proposed plans to modify the routes of Buses 304 and 392. The proposed changes have the buses passing through Potter St and Gadigal Ave from Bourke St and Lachlan St respectively.

Not only are Potter St and Gadigal Ave narrow with cars narrowly passing each other in each direction, they are also extremely busy throughout the whole day, with a mixture of residents entering and exiting the various residential complex carparks, delivery vehicles delivering to local restaurants and other small businesses, parents taking their kids to the child care centre located at 7 Potter St, and locals crossing streets, often with children or dogs, to head over to the supermarkets, parks, and gym.

The idea of adding buses to these already very busy streets not only increases traffic, but also significantly increases the risk of accidents involving pedestrians. The corner of Gadigal and Potter is already a blind spot for those crossing the street close to that bend.

The added noise caused by buses is also of great concern, especially for those living on ground floor and other lower levels of these complexes. I personally live on the ground floor at 5 Potter St and am extremely concerned about the additional noise these buses will cause noting they are planned to pass through every 10 minutes every day of the week.

We sincerely request Transport for NSW and the City of Sydney to reconsider the modification of these bus routes. The serious dangers posed by these changes are not worth the expected benefits.
