Dear All
It has been a long time!
I am stopping by because I have just launched a major new petition and I would like your help.
I want to help STOP an outrageous plan to build a 34 storey tower - plus a mass of other buildings - right by Battersea Bridge. The project is called 'One Battersea Bridge' and it does not give one single hoot for the area, it communities, or its history. As always with property developers, it is ALL about profit and it must be stopped.
This is the petition. Please sign it.
Maybe you can also sign a petition on the same issue launched by Greg Hands MP. His one is here.
This is all about pulling together and fighting this as a team. We can do it.
THANK YOU.
Rob McGibbon
To give you an insight into why I have started htis petition, here is the citation...
This is a call to action to help STOP a vast and vulgar property development proposed to emerge right by Battersea Bridge.
The project - entitled One Battersea Bridge - will destroy a precious, historical riverside vista - to line the pockets of a super rich company, its architects Farrells and their builders. They have NO regard for the repercussions of this design on the area.
One Battersea Bridge (OBB) is the brainchild of PROMONTORIA BATTERSEA, a determined and experienced developer with a network of other businesses.
This project features a 34 storey tower rising to 119 metres, plus a huge chunk of other buildings. All this will be built right next to Battersea Bridge on its south side and beside the waterfront. Its scale and density for such a location is ridiculous on so many levels, not least the chaos it will cause during and AFTER its construction.
Make no mistake - this absurdly disproportionate development CAN happen unless urgent action is taken by YOU - the community, the council and beyond.
The deadline to make a comment about this to Wandsworth council closes on 20th JUNE.
We need you to step up and make a comment NOW. You can do it HERE.
Step up and help STOP One Battersea Bridge. This is not a silly sob story - this is serious.
The longterm purpose of this campaign is to have the project scrapped ALTOGETHER. It is my assertion that Promontoria and Farrells are deliberately and cyncially proposing such a vast project - with a view to strategically absorb the complaints and then "offer to reduce" the scale to get it approved. This is an all-to common ploy by developers. In fact, Farrells used these exact tactics for the twin towers at its Chelsea Waterfront development (laughably called "two dancers in the sky" by Sir Terry Farrell!).
BIN this build.
