Two years ago today, Jack Ryan died on Battersea Bridge. He was only 29.

Jack's shocking death devastated his loving family, his girlfriend, and his large group of loyal friends.

It also prompted this campaign, which, in turn, brought thousands of people together to demand safety changes to the northern junction of the bridge. The work to make it safe continues and will be delivered. In the scheme of things, all that is meaningless in the face of such tragedy, but something positive has emerged out of the sadness.

I will pause this evening - just after 6pm, when the accident happened - to remember Jack.  And then I will raise a pint to him. Maybe even two!

I send my best wishes to his family, Liz and Millie, and all his friends.

RIP Jack. You are not forgotten.
