I have had the privilege of being admitted into PEC Chandigarh this year, an institution that surpasses many tier 2 NITs in India when it comes to placements, the quality of the peer group, and campus life. Despite these strengths, PEC Chandigarh does not receive the governmental recognition and funding it deserves, which is why I'm passionate about advocating for its transformation into NIT Chandigarh.

The current status of PEC Chandigarh fails to reflect its true potential. As a student, I can personally vouch for its outstanding academic programs and the conducive learning environment it offers. Our college has consistently produced top-performing graduates who have excelled in various engineering and technology sectors globally. However, the lack of NIT status restricts the students from accessing several governmental perks such as increased funding, scholarships, and larger-scale infrastructural developments that other NITs enjoy.

Data from recent placement records demonstrate that PEC Chandigarh achieves an impressive placement rate of over 90%, with students securing positions in leading companies across the globe. Many of our alumni have gone on to achieve remarkable success in their fields, often outperforming graduates from other NITs. Yet, PEC Chandigarh remains underfunded and under-recognized, causing us to miss out on opportunities that influence students' educational experiences and future career prospects.

The transformation of PEC Chandigarh into NIT Chandigarh would not only honor the hard work of its exceptional student body and faculty but also enhance the institution's ability to attract brighter minds and foster innovation. It would allow PEC to establish stronger collaborations with industries and research organizations, benefiting both the local and national educational landscapes. Aligning PEC Chandigarh with NIT status will also diversify the educational opportunities available in the region, encouraging more students to gain expertise in engineering and technology.
