On March 2,2026 the Massachusetts Disability Law Center released their 15th Bridgewater State Hospital monitor report.  Summary:  Lack of proper care, disorganization, failed policies, unsafe environment, poor leadership, employee turnover, attempted suicide, injuries, illegal violations (including illegal seclusion and restraints), unsanitary conditions, staff violence all continue to be problematic.  

" What I saw with my own eyes was nauseating. The sickening heat, the chemical smell, the damp and mold-coated bathrooms. The men calling out to me as I walked the halls, asking me to help them, with fear and desperation in their voices"
