Wellpath " Recovery Solutions" has a very poor reputation caring for patients at Bridgewater State Hospital. The Department of Corrections recently signed a new five year contract with Wellpath (Name recently changed to "Recovery Solutions"- due to a bankruptcy on November 10, 2024)  There was no change in leadership or personnel.   Abuse and neglect culture continues to be strong.  

Elizabeth Warren, Edward Markey and  other U.S.  Senators warned against signing a new contract  "Profit over care, `1400+  lawsuites, 70 deaths, extremely poor leadership and dangerously low critical employee shortages.  Some clinicians are not board certified.   

 Wellpath's cutlure- "Founder and CEO Wellpath"  found guilty of contract bribery!!!

U.S. Senators warned Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Department of Corrections Commissioner, Shawn Jenkins and Massachusetts Legislators against renewing a health care contract with Wellpath.

The most recent Bridgewater State Hospital  monitor report  released on March 2, 2026 by the Massachusetts Disability Law Center showed continued abuses, neglect, poor care, unsanitary conditions, Civil rights violations  and a record high illegal seclusion and restraints.     

Bridgewater State Hospital MUST be transferred to the Department of Mental Health and finally end the abuse!!!  Massachusetts Department of Corrections poorly manages clinical care. Massachusetts is the only state in the country that allows the Department of corrections to oversee a psychatric hospital.
