LOCAL ELECTIONS THURSDAY 2 MAY 2019.

Barry Winstanley is the Labour candidate for Davyhulme East in the local elections next Thursday and in order to safegaurd the future of George Carnall it is vital that Barry is elected to represent this ward.
This is a copy of his latest leaflet which is devoted solely to George Carnall Leisure Centre.

Dear Davyhulme East resident

The George Carnall Leisure Centre is a much valued community resource which, against the wishes of local people, was earmarked for closure by the previous Conservative administration of Trafford Council.

Only Labour has listened to local residents. Unlike the previous Conservative administration who completely ignored resident's views and voted unanimously for the Centre's closure. Not a single Conservative Councillor, not even the Conservative Councillors in Davyhulme East where the centre is located were willing to listen to residents views, stand up for our community and vote against the closure.

The recently elected Labour Administration of Trafford Council has listened closely to the Save George Carnall Campaign Group and Davyhulme residents and will undertake a Public Consultation to allow local residents to have a say on and shape the the future use of the Centre.

The Public Consultation is completely dependent on the Labour Party remaining in control of Trafford Council

In stark contrast to the Conservatives, Trafford Labour Party under the leadership of Cllr Andrew Western and aided by Cllr Jayne Dillon recently elected Labour Councillor for Davyhulme East, have tirelessly supported us in our fight and with Barry Winstanley the recently selected Labour Candidate for Davyhulme East in this year's local elections on 2nd May 2019 Trafford Labour have chosen somebody else who was 100% behind our campaign from the very start.

As Barry says,'' I live around here with my wife and children - my kid had their Gymnastics, Fencing and Martial Arts classes at George Carnall - I know what the Centre means to local people. The Labour led consultation is our community's chance to have our say about its future''.

As Mike says,"If the Conservatives were to regain control of the Council then any hope of George Carnall being saved from closure would be nil''.

IF LABOUR KEEP CONTROL OF TRAFFORD COUNCIL RESIDENTS WILL GET A SAY IN THE CENTRE'S FUTURE.

This is why we in the Save George Carnall Campaign are urging local people to vote for Labour Candidate Barry Winstanley in Davyhulme East on 2nd May 2019 - Barry is a local resident who has already shown he is willing to listen our views. He will make a great Councillor for the people of Davyhulme East.
