Residents of Country Forest West have witnessed the daily risks that drivers, face at the intersection of Country Forest Drive and FM 1488. The absence of a traffic light has led to numerous near-misses and accidents. This is not just an inconvenience; it's a matter of public safety.

The proposed changes to 1488 were made before the bond passed to build 2 new schools adjacent to our intersection. There have also been 2 childcare centers opened, a shopping center on the west side of Country Forest drive is set to open soon, and a shopping center on the east side of Country Forest drive is proposed. Another commercial property has been built directly south (across 1488) of Country Forest drive. All of these pose new traffic and new risks to our residents and the general public traveling down FM 1488.

We are calling on the Texas Department of Transportation to prioritize our safety by installing a traffic light at this intersection. This simple yet crucial change can significantly reduce accident rates and ensure safer roads for all who live in or visit our community.
