Yesterday, August 25, 2015, Honorable Judge Lee of the Union County Superior Court, after reviewing the documents and information provided: - DENIED the Town of Weddington its request to dismiss our case. - EXTENDED the Injunction, preventing the Town from selling or transferring the station to anyone until a verdict from a trial by jury of this case. - APPROVED our amended compliant which added FRUAD to our claim in addition to the Breach of Contract. Our attorneys will now take whatever steps they deem prudent to gather more documents and evidence to prove our case in the court of law. No trial date has been set. To view documents filed in court click or copy this URL: www.providencevfd.com/documents/ There is an election coming in November. Councilwoman Pam Hadley is running for Mayor against incumbent, Bill Deter. Two other newcomers known to support PVFD are also running, Mikki Weaver and Janice Propst. If you would like to be included in updates on their campaigns please drop me a line at: judyjohnston@carolina.rr.com. Thank you for your patience as we slowing move through the legal process. The organization of Providence VFD is still active...we're just homeless at this moment. I'll continue to update you as more news surfaces.
