Rotterdam NY amended the local law # 7 of the year 1975 to restrict  the selling, offer to sell or dispense any food, confectionery or ice cream directly from a vehicle while said vehicle is on a public street.  
This law can be found under section “J” of chapter 150-19 rules and regulations of the town code of the Town of Rotterdam.  
We would like to Request the Town Board to amend this chapter and allow an ice cream truck back into the community with specific rules and operation set forth by what the Town of Rotterdam sees fit.  
Beginning May 1st through September 30th.
No selling on major streets(Curry Rd, Altamont Ave, Helderberg Ave, Guilderland Ave, all roads with heavy traffic). 
No playing music on any of the above streets. 
No selling on private lots unless invited and with permission. 
No selling in parking lots of any sports fields that have a concession stand that is open for business, unless invited with permission. 
Hours of operation will be 11am-8pm for non school days and 4pm-8pm on all school days. 
All holidays and vacation and all weekends during school season, hours are 11am-8pm. 
Let’s give our kids some excitement again when they hear that jingle!
