Keep Onteora Lake and the Bluestone Wild Forest Pristine

Keep Onteora Lake and the Bluestone Wild Forest Pristine
The Issue
As people who live in the Town of Kingston, or recreate at Onteora Lake and on the hiking and biking trails of the Bluestone Wild Forest, or simply cherish the open space lands of the Catskill Park and Catskill Forest Preserve, we urge the Town of Kingston Planning Board to rescind (revoke) its Negative Declaration of environmental impact on the application for a steel and cement fabrication plant from 850 Route 28, LLC. The Planning Board should conduct a thoroughgoing environmental review of the proposed plant in order to insure that our recreational activities can continue unharmed, that economic benefits tourists bring to the Town of Kingston are not sacrificed, and that water quality and air quality in the Bluestone Wild Forest and at Onteora Lake, Pickerel Pond, and nearby trout-spawning streams remain pristine.
