Install Traffic Lights to Calm Traffic on St. John's Road Now!
Community members living adjacent and around the intersections of St. John's Road and 7th Line in Innisfil are in strong support of traffic lights or a 4 way stop being installed to calm the traffic in the area.
Sight lines when turning left on St. John's from the 7th line do not meet minimum standards. As a result, multiple accidents have occurred on this stretch of road. Despite this lack of visibility, many vehicles have been witnessed repeatedly driving upwards of 30km / hour over the speed limit around the bend. In the past this was often observed late in the evening, however more recently during the afternoons.
Over the past few years the demographics of this community have changed drastically, with multiple young families moving in. Residents are afraid to exercise or even walk their dogs around this busy section. Neighborhood children cannot walk to a nearby park, and residents often drive to their mail boxes on Anna Maria as it is unsafe to walk. Residents living directly on St. John's have all encountered near misses while trying to merge into traffic from their driveways.
The health, safety and welfare of our residents and children will continue to be at risk if this issue is not addressed soon! Please sign this petition to show support for traffic lights to be installed at St. John's Road and the 7th Line.
