Due to the current state of the pandemic a lot of things have changed and we have not been able to go about our everyday activities the same. Since all of Ontario has been placed into lockdown all the forms of indoor winter activities have been cancelled for all age groups. Some people look forward to this time of year because this is when they're the most active. Under the Ontario lockdown guidelines the ability to be able to have an outdoor rink is deemed a safe way to get outdoor exercise. Huntsville has the highest population in all of Muskoka but has yet to provide the town with a centralized skating rink. Male and female hockey, figure skating, curling and public skating have been cancelled because the indoor facilities have been forced to close. This petition is to create a change to provide a space where these outdoor activities can be accessed by everyone in the town of Huntsville.
