Dear Concerned Neighbor, It's been some weeks since we contacted you so we thought we'd give you an update of what activity has occurred and what our plans are for the near future. Firstly, we've formed a new not-for-profit organization, The Fort Salonga Property Owners Association which is specifically dedicated to opposing the Cluster Homes Rezoning and is in no way is designed to replace any function of any existing neighborhood association. In the next few weeks we will be announcing a public meeting to explain our aims and encourage your participation. In the mean time if there's any way in which you feel you can contribute please let us know - we'll be delighted to accept. Secondly, we are in the process of meeting with all the politicians and officials who will ultimately decide the issue. We have a wealth of data we are presenting to them. Thirdly, we are continuing to research legal and environmental issues which could be vital to our case and also investigating the practicalities of engaging professional specialist assistance. Lastly and most importantly, we've been energetically engaged in debunking Northwind's claim that this is a straight choice between their plan of 108 Cluster Homes OR the closure of the golf course. We emphatically do not wish to see the golf course shut down. In fact the only person who has ever mentioned the golf course closure is Northwind's Mr Tsunis whose "Alternate Plan" of 103 single family homes is already widely discredited as a scare tactic. We respect the IHCC's new owner's right to develop within the law but utterly reject his current intrusive plan which would require a change in the zoning law. We've also been working closely with the Fort Salonga Association on the best way to go forward on a united front. We know that the Northwind group has been encouraging it's supporters to voice their opinion to the FSA and we urge you to do the same so that the true community feeling will become apparent. The best way to accomplish this is to email INFO@FORTSALONGA.ORG and express your OPPOSITION to the Cluster Plan . We do not want the strongly held community viewpoint opposing the plan which was so evident at the Elementary School meeting to be diluted by a minority view which has greater resources.
