Put Erin Wastewater to a Referendum

The Issue

The Town of Erin’s Wastewater plan has been a constant hot topic for most residents.

The residents need to make the final decision for this plan as a collective

A small group of secretive councillors and the mayor cannot be the only ones to make a decision that will affect every tax paying person in the Town of Erin.  We elected them and deserve to be heard.

The issue of the Town of Erin’s wastewater plan MUST be put to a referendum.

If the argument is that the last election was a referendum (of sorts) as support for the Wastewater Plant, the fact that the mayor didn't get 50% of the votes goes against that.

The mayor received less than 50% support in the last election..... think about that for a second.

Not a resounding yes to wastewater.

By signing this petition, you will be supporting a request that a referendum be held on this issue.

A Referendum is a power reserved to the voters that allows the voters, by petition, to demand the reconsideration and repeal of any legislative action of the City Council, except an emergency measure, before it becomes effective.
