Supposedly the vote as to whether or not to restore the Stone House will come up at the April 12th council meeting. If you can come to the meeting to show your support, it would be greatly appreciated.
If you still support the restoration PLEASE call Chuck Unroe (if he'll answer your call) and the rest of the town council, and ask them to vote for the restoration. Their phone numbers can be found at https://www.cliftonforgeva.gov/council/council-members/
There are 2 additional council members, but for some reason they have not been added to the council web page; Debbie Laudermilk and Dale Burdette. If I had their numbers I would post them.
When I posted the council members names and numbers on Facebook, someone filed a fictitious report with Facebook and, instead of checking the report and finding it was false, they put me in Facebook jail.
I also received a letter from the town attorney basically telling me to go away. Well, that didn't work.
I don't know why "the powers that be" are working so hard to stop the restoration, the Pledges and the sale of the history book. Restoring that historic building is a win/win situation for the town, and God knows we need a win
People are moving away. Businesses are closing. Something needs to turn around or Clifton Forge will become a ghost town
So PLEASE call the town manager, Chuck Unroe, and the rest of town council and ask them to vote yes to restore the building.
By the way, I'm not sure if I posted a photo of the Stone House since the ivy has been removed. It looks 1000% better.
Thank you.
