Destroy the Bethnal Green Mulberry Tree

Destroy the Bethnal Green Mulberry Tree
The Issue
Save The Bethnal Green Mulberry is a campaign against building homes in central London. They are hiding behind a tree. For too long pro-development activists have focused on building housing, but we need to meet this problem head on.
We need to destroy the Bethnal Green Mulberry.
The tree is rubbish, it can't even stand up straight without a crappy plank of wood. It fails to perform the simple core feature of a tree. We want to destroy it.
We are open to suggestions as to how to destroy the tree. Maybe we could chop it up for chipboard. Maybe we could throw it in the Thames. Maybe we could blow it up with dynamite. All that matters is it is destroyed.
This petition has several advantages over more traditional pro development campaigns.
1) We have clarity of vision and purpose. We want to destroy the tree. Nebulous pro housing arguments allow our opponents to weasel out with platitudes. They say -
"We understand there is currently a pressing need for genuinely affordable housing in Bethnal Green but we also recognise a responsibility to future generations."
But this falls away in the face of our campaign. We are the future generation and we want to destroy the tree.
2) We do not defend special interests. We hold no candle for any specific development or developer. We have not read the proposed plans. We have never even been to the Bethnal Green. We don't care about how it fits into its surroundings. We don't care about property prices. We just want to destroy the tree.
Once the tree is gone we are agnostic as to what the space should be used for. I would personally like to see homes built in the area to help solve London's housing crisis. If instead we are left with a hole in the ground that would still be better than the status quo. As long as the tree is destroyed.
3) Our campaign is ambitious. Previous plans from the council suggested moving the tree. This is a failure of ambition, and is giving ground to enemies who cannot be negotiated with. It must be destroyed.
4) Our campaign taps into fundamental emotions. Freud described the death drive, Thanatos. The urge of all humans to destroy. We want to destroy the tree.
