As an alumni and parent of a current Musical Theatre student at Etobicoke School of the Arts, I am reaching  out to anyone and everyone who can help keep Michael Vieira’s position as Itinerate Music Teacher, accompanist, arranger, conductor, music tutor and mentor that he has held at our school for the past 37 years.

I can not stress enough how important it is for our talented young people to be able to work with real music and not karaoke tracks… to be able to have someone change the music to fit their voice… to be able to have instrumental scores written for ensembles and shows…. to have beneficial coaching to have their best performances.

Mr. Vieira has done this for so many years. He is the only person at ESA  to have seen countless students and graduates live their  dreams and grow as individuals since 1983. No other member of faculty has been there that long.

Mr. Vieira has spent years dedicating his life to helping out our school in such an important way and now it is time for us to support him and save his job so he can continue his work with future generations of students. My daughter and all the students , who work hard and audition to get into this school and other schools like it, deserves to learn with real music and not some track off of YouTube. They deserve the quality attention Mr. Veira puts into each student song choices, group ensembles  and productions. The music theatre and music departments would not be the same without him.

Please sign the petition, share the petition with everyone you know and ask them to help us save an amazing asset to the arts and to ESA.
Students, parents, siblings, relatives, alumni and partners!!! Anyone who has ever attended a concert, showcase, or production!!
Anyone and Everyone can help. Even if you don’t know him… sign it to allow deserving and talented young people a chance to learn and share their voices the proper way.

Lend us your voices today to help the voices of tomorrow.
