This petition requests that the Federal Government ensure that Mount Gambier, as South Australia's second largest city, is chosen as one of the 24 Head to Health satellite centre sites.

The Federal government as part of their reform is to create a national network of multidisciplinary mental health treatment centres for adults, youth and children to contribute to addressing the ‘missing middle’ service gap.

The Centres are designed to provide a welcoming, low stigma, ‘no wrong door’ entry point for adults to access mental health information, services and supports. The Centres are intended to complement, not replace or duplicate, mental health services already provided in the community. For some people, attending a Centre may be their first experience engaging with a mental health service.

There are currently 8 trial Head to Health sites, with an additional 24 new satellite centres being proposed.
