On April 18th, my brother and two friends of his were victims of gun violence at the Somers House, along with three other wounded victims. Our families are still grieving, and yet this bar has continued to stay open and get business with no regard to what they failed to do, which was search all their patrons. I feel as if they should've had a metal detector or took more serious precautions when letting people in the bar. There should've been no way possible someone gets in the bar with a weapon, especially with intent to harm someone. I've yet to speak to or hear anything from the owners or staff. So today I'm starting this petition to get them shut down completely. These young men were father's, brothers, son's and we cared very much about them. We need this petition signed to make sure nothing like this happens again.
