TOLLINGTON RESIDENTS NEED HELP FROM ISLINGTON WITH RISING DRUG ISSUES IN OUR COMMUNITY.

The Issue

Tollington Ward panel / police meeting of 21st of October related to crime and anti-social behaviour update, demonstrate that the frustration around drug taking and dealing and the anti-social behaviour linked to this around our north tollington streets are still a big stress for our community.

We, residents and under-ressources police are faced with unprecedented challenges of having to deal with drug related issues on daily basis at all hours of the day.

Drug taking on doorstep, drug dealing at all hours of the day directly exposing our community and our children to this rising issue in our beloved neighbourhood.

That is also linked to car theft, shoplifting, parcels theft , begging, drug overdose …

In the last 12 months, 152 offences for theft occurred in Tollington which is a 48% increase in the last 12 months.

We all know the conservative cuts and lack of investments in our public services like police force, drug rehabilitation center is preventing this issue from being dealt with properly in our area.

We are starting a petition to ask Islington head of police and Islington council to help us by getting more police workforce in our area. We are desperate for more help to deal with this issues.

Numbers are showing a striking rise of 44% rise in call volumes related to drugs anti-social behaviour which are being reported by residents ( percentage change between 2021/2022 and 2022/2023) it is a 95% increase from the same percentage between 2018/2019 and 2022/2023.

We are the 2nd rank area (between 1 to 17 ) with the highest calls.

We are calling for help with Islington council and the Head of Islington police, how are you able to help our small police force here in Tollington to help our residents feel safe and prevent more anti-social behaviour ?

The numbers are striking. Please refer to the Tollington Ward panel of October 2023.

We are Islington tax payers, we want to protect our beloved community and most vulnerable people and children to be affected in such way.
They are a lot of children and teenagers exposed to this issues.

We want Islington council , our councillors to help us deal with this rising and distressing issue urgently.

This will be submitted to the next council meeting.

Help by Signing , share and support this petition.

Please Keep notifying the police on 999 if it is an emergency, 101 if it is not an emergency but an anti-social behaviour. DO NOT GIVE UP REPORTING.
