Take Down "The Chief" Racist Caricature Sign of Toh-Atin Gallery in Durango, Colorado

Take Down "The Chief" Racist Caricature Sign of Toh-Atin Gallery in Durango, Colorado
The Issue
We are calling on the City of Durango, Mayor Dean Brookie, and Toh-Atin Gallery to do the right thing by removing Toh-Atin Gallery's racist caricature sign, known as "The Chief". In times likes these, there is no excuse for the continued presence of dehumanizing stereotypes (nor was there ever). We demand the sign's removal immediately.
Background:
Article (7/9/20): A cartoonish Native American towering over Durango has divided the city. Should “the chief” stay or go?
Article (2017/2020): Between Mascots and Massacres

Letter to the Editor (6/23/20): ‘Chief’ offends a lot of us – take it down
Letter to the Editor (6/25/20): White opinions about sign do not count

Article (6/18/20): Petition requests chief sign be taken down in Durango
Article (6/18/20): More than 1,400 people call for ‘Chief’ to be taken down
Letter to the Editor (5/30/19): Herald fails to see the history of racism
