Ban or limit air duster purchases

Ban or limit air duster purchases
The Issue
In the great state of Indiana, there is a specific limit to the number of certain items you can purchase. For example, Alcohol, for off-site sales a person is only legally allowed to purchase 576 ounces; Baby formula, you can only buy so much because people tend to cut drugs with it; Pseudoephedrine and ephedrine, one is only allowed to purchase 3.6 grams in one day, 7.2 grams in 30 days and no more than 61.2 grams in a 365 day period. But, unfortunately, air duster can be purchased in insane amounts at one time.
Not many people understand the harmful effects air duster can bring to a person and his/her family and friends. I've witnessed first hand how addicting this product can become. People have been known to huff upwards of 20 cans in a sitting. Not only can people buy large amounts of duster they can buy it for fairly cheap. Huffing air duster has been said to have a very fleeting high. So those who use tend to use a large amount to keep the high for as long as possible. As of 2015, around 10 percent of Americans (aged 12 and older) have misused inhalant products like Dust-Off at some point in life for the psychoactive effects they can produce.
Potential short-term effects of inhaling air duster
-Trouble breathing
-Nausea
-Vomiting
-Lightheadedness
-Chest pain
-Disorientation
-Loss of motor control and coordination
-Drowsiness
-Suffocation
-Seizures
-Asphyxiation
-Lack of oxygen to the brain
-Loss of consciousness and even coma
-Injury-related to poor decisions, lack of inhibitions, and increased risk-taking
Air duster is an incredibly toxic poison that is not intended to be inhaled according to the safety instructions for Dust-Off. Inhaling duster can cause immediate and long-term consequences.
Potential long-term effects of huffing air duster
- Permanent brain damage that can lead to irreversible neurological deficits.
- Brainstem dysfunction, which can cause motor, sensory, and cognitive deficits.
- Irritability
- Hearing loss
- Slurred speech
- Tremors
- Lack of motor coordination
- Bone marrow toxicity
- Vision problems
- Damage to major organs, such as the liver, kidneys, heart, and lungs, and to the central nervous system can also be the result of repeated huffing.
- Abusing air duster regularly may lead to psychological and physical addiction
- And even death
We need to act now. We need to put restrictions on air duster purchases. And hopefully, eventually, we can ban in-store sales of air duster. Please help me save the life of my loved one and so many others. - A Concerned Friend
