"My message to Renew Energy is we're not going anywhere. And we're here to be your worst nightmare if you want to stick around this district and pursue your business interests.

"If you go for resource consent, we'll oppose you there. If you start buying land doing anything moving towards pushing this business plan, we'll be there opposing you. Our message is don't bother."

Renew Energy director Kevin Stratful, who fronted the July public meeting, was not at the Westland not Wasteland meeting. He has not responded to request for comment.
