Plea for the Music Industry to properly donate to the Black Lives Matter movement

Plea for the Music Industry to properly donate to the Black Lives Matter movement
The Issue
Music corporations, labels and streaming services profit off black culture and music like no other institution. The music that we all consume and enjoy, and that these companies exploit, is deeply rooted within black culture.
"The repackaging of Black music continues to support a lopsided system by granting the financial success to the controllers of the music industry which, in many cases, are white people. Black musical products are bought and sold in the marketplace and most of the economic returns or profits go to white entrepreneurs, other music industry players, and artistes. The media (i.e. music magazines, radio shows etc.) and other institutions that disseminate culture are also chiefly owned and controlled by white people and positioned to engage in the economic exploitation of Black music."
The industry started the 'blackouttuesday' trend which helped to raise awareness by 'pressing pause on the show'. However we need more than a day to make a real difference, we need constant and further action from the major record labels, distribution companies and other music-related entities.
Please sign this petition to force the Music Industry to show greater support for black culture and music by properly donating to the cause.
