My son Alfie was born at full term weighing 8.5lbs He but was starved of oxygen at birth Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy Grade 3 (most severe) "Brain injury – lack of oxygen to the brain, or #asphyxia. Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, or HIE, is the brain injury caused by oxygen deprivation to the brain, also commonly known as intrapartum asphyxia" Alfie now has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Motor Function Grade 5 (most severe) he is 11 years old and as tall as me (his mum) He is a full time wheelchair user and lives with a lot of pain and muscle spasm. He has just turned Eleven this year and we have found that the older he gets when we go out for the day on a family trip, hospital Appointment or travelling the M roads, we have nowhere to change his Continence Pad except on Public Toilet floors. IT DOES STATE IN THE EQUALITY ACT 2010 section 20 that there "IS A DUTY" "where a provision, criterion or practice of A's puts a disabled person at a substantial disadvantage in relation to a relevant matter in comparison with persons who are not disabled, to take such steps as it is reasonable to AVOID THE DISADVANTAGE" http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/15/section/20
