Both houses of the Indian Parliament are yet again being held hostage by the political parties in the Opposition.Having to witness the same political drama unfolding in Parliament over an issue and every day being reduced to a mud-slinging match is shameful for every Indian citizen .Not only does this undermine Indian Democracy, but is also an insult to honest taxpayers , whose hard earned incomes go into funding the sessions of Parliament .

This time , its the people's woes due to  Demonetisation that has prompted the opposition to stall the proceedings of Parliament on a different excuse each day. My only appeal to the leaders of opposition  is to stop this logjam and instead discuss and debate issues with the government .Insisting that the PM stay throughout the debate and that the debate be conducted only under a rule that entails voting only seem to be gimmicks to not let Parliament function.

If the opposition parties think they can reap political benefit by stalling parliament on these issues, they are wrong . Today more than anything , the Indian citizen wants to see Parliament functioning and building on the progress made by the government or holding the government accountable .
