Government Aided Veterinary Hospital inside Mumbai Veterinary College, Goregaon

Government Aided Veterinary Hospital inside Mumbai Veterinary College, Goregaon

The Issue

This petition is for ALL animal lovers/admirers. We request you to unite so that the authorities take appropriate action for the rehabilitation and betterment of every animal in need.

There are merely 2 hospitals in Mumbai. Which are partially aided by the government. One in Parel and the other one in Mankhurd. We wish to appeal to the government to construct a new veterinary hospital in the Veterinary College premises of Goregaon East, Mumbai.

Owner/Parents of pet animals and birds have the option for private clinics and facilities. But these turn out to be unaffordable for a feeder or an animal lover who wishes to help stray or community animals. Ergo, they have to struggle to survive or fend for themselves.

In case of accidents or incidences of animal cruelty, feeders and common people have to either spend an exorbitant amount of money at a clinic or travel to remote locations, which might not even have the facilities needed. In dire situations like these, also considering the traffic in Mumbai, the animals are either left to die or are physically challenged for life.

We request you to consider our appeal to set up a fully functional Vet Hospital in Goregaon East. Currently, this vet college in Goregaon has only first aid assistance. What we need is a multi-specialty or a full-fledged hospital, that comprises facilities like X-rays, blood tests, cancer treatment, surgeries, etc. A place that operates 24*7 and not just from 10 am to 1 pm. This will benefit the animals and birds on the Western Line of Mumbai, especially near the highway who predominantly get into accidents. This will also facilitate the vaccination and neutering of animals and help balance their population.

A new hospital in Mumbai is of vital importance and I urge everyone to sign this petition and help the animals in need.
