This new BBC3 survey from the BBC Trust opened nearly 2 weeks ago - http://bit.ly/1EQr5YN - but unless you signed our petition you'd know nothing about it. The BBC has done practically nothing to promote it. As of this morning there hadn't been a single post on the BBC3 Facebook, and was just 2 retweets on the BBC3 Twitter (at times when the channel isn't even on-air). Neither spell out that it's about the potential closure of BBC3 on TV.
It makes me very angry that they are giving the impression that they don't want people to know what's happening, particularly at a vital time when viewers could be giving their views officially and impacting the outcome. But I'm determined to make sure the BBC Trust and BBC hear us loudly and clearly once more.
This web form is easy to do, and takes just 30 seconds to fill out - http://bit.ly/1EQr5YN - all you need to do is provide your name and email address. Once you’ve done that tweet this message demanding the BBC does more to communicate what's going on - http://ctt.ec/j05AL
It's Reading and Leeds Festival this weekend but don't expect to find any coverage on BBC3. They're moving headliners to late night BBC Four, and showing it in between cooking and sport on the BBC Red Button. It's a sign of things to come if these plans succeed. No doubt the poor ratings will be used to justify the online move. Just like the mixed reaction to Don't Tell The Bride on BBC1 and Hair on BBC2, and the ratings for new episodes of Family Guy on BBC2 - lower than the BBC3 airing of the same episode on Tuesday nights. If viewers won’t take to shows swapping channels why would they take to them leaving TV altogether?!
Again head to http://bit.ly/1EQr5YN and give your opinions on this, and then click to tweet this message to alert people to it - http://ctt.ec/j05AL. As always I’m very grateful for the amazing support you provide with this campaign.
